MSNBC.com Launches New Business Section In Conjunction With The Show
SECAUCUS, N.J. -– August 2, 2006 -– MSNBC's "Your Business" launches officially on Sunday, August 13th at 7:30 a.m. (ET). The weekly, half-hour program, hosted by JJ Ramberg, which focuses exclusively on America's small business entrepreneurs, will be the place to go for news, advice, guidance, and tips for small business owners.
Each week, "Your Business" will present a profile of a small business owner, highlighting both the challenges and successes they have each faced. Guest panelists, who will include venture capitalists, angel investors, business journalists, academics, and successful entrepreneurs, will weigh in with their expertise and answer questions from viewers.
"Your Business" will also feature a segment titled 'Elevator Pitch,' where entrepreneurs get a chance to pitch their new business ideas to a panel of experts. Also included in the program are the latest small business headlines, interesting websites for small business owners, and the 'Small Biz Top Five,' the weekly top 5 tips for improving your business.
"We are pleased to offer our viewers this unique window into the world of small business. 'Your Business' will provide the latest business news and insight into the fascinating lives of those shaping this sector," said MSNBC General Manager Dan Abrams. "Your Business" will telecast weekly on Sundays at 7:30 am (ET) and re-air the following Saturday at 5:30 am (ET).
In conjunction with the show, MSNBC.com will be launching a new section, which will be available at www.yourbusiness.msnbc.com. The section will include video from each week's show, background on show guests and Web-exclusive features including a new small-business blog and message board. The section will also feature links to MSNBC.com's comprehensive coverage of business and small-business news.
Host JJ Ramberg joins MSNBC from CNN where she reported on a wide range of topics from breaking news to profiles of the country's top business leaders. Passionate about small business, Ramberg has first-hand experience, co-founding the search engine GoodSearch.com. Ramberg has a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University and an MBA from Stanford Business School.
Scott Leon is executive producer of "Your Business." A veteran broadcast journalist for over 30 years, Leon was formerly executive producer of MSNBC's "Entertainment Hot List" and "MSNBC At the Movies."
